- Composition: Dimethylaminoazobenzene (0.5%) and phenolphthalein (0.1%) in 90% ethanol. Gastric acid indicator.
- Appearance: Red solution.
- Composition: 0.5% Dimethylaminoazobenzene and 0.1% Phenolphthalein in 90% Ethanol.
- Appearance: Clear red solution.
- pH Transition: Red at pH 2.8-4.4 (due to DAB), colorless at pH >4.4, pink at pH >8.2 (due to PP).
- Stability: Stable when stored in amber bottle.
- Hazard: Flammable liquid. Dye may be harmful.
- Safety: Keep away from ignition sources.
- Storage: Store in an amber glass bottle in a cool place.
